Mitchelcroft, in Scorriton, is set in 5 acres of hay meadows and wildlife gardens within the Dartmoor National Park, and nestles in a beautiful patchwork of hillsides on the edge of the moor. Michael and Debbie Owen have lived at Mitchelcroft for over 20 years and welcome you to share their home for a peaceful break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Scorriton is a tiny hamlet with a farm, a few houses and a pub – a perfect base for a longer stay. There is wonderful walking on the coast, (a short drive away) or, of course, Dartmoor is on our doorstep.
The house lies on the High Moorland link of the Dartmoor Way Cycle Route, and the Two Moors Way is just at the end of the lane. There is a Village Pub within 5 minutes walk – or perhaps you could indulge in one of Debbie’s Platters at the end of your long day.
There are three double/twin en-suite rooms and each room has a private outdoor sitting area on the deck outside the room and table and chairs out in the meadow where you can sit and watch the sun set. On colder evenings why not curl up with a good book in our cosy guest lounge. We have a library full of books and maps and there is free wi-fi throughout the house. Each room has a generous hospitality tray, hair-dryer, flat screen TV. There is homemade cake left on your tray for you at the end of your day and fresh milk in the cool box in your room. It’s a perfect retreat for your Anniversary or Birthday. Prices start from £100 per night and include Breakfast. We have a two night minimum stay policy, however if you are walking the Dartmoor way, we will try and accommodate you for one night if you email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
